Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The work meets the requirements indicated:
    ORCID code
    Declaration of No Conflict of Interest
    Contribution by authors
  • The text complies with the bibliographic style requirements indicated in the Guidelines for authors, which can be found in About the journal.
  • The petition has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the editor).
  • Web addresses have been added for reference where possible.

  • The text has single line spacing; font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URL addresses); and all the illustrations, figures and tables are within the text in the place that corresponds to them and not at the end of the whole.

  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • Each source consulted has been correctly cited in the body of the text and, in turn, referenced at the end. They are preferably within the age range of up to 5 years.

Author Guidelines

RULES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES: ORIGINALS

The Arrancada magazine founded in 1978 by the Provincial Directorate of Sports of Santiago de Cuba, is the oldest scientific-technological publication in Cuba, specialized in Sports, Physical Education, Recreation, Therapeutic and Prophylactic Physical Culture, Professional Training and Applied Sciences to the branches mentioned. It is refereed with the blind pair method, applied by external academic evaluators, who ensure the quality, relevance and originality of the articles. It publishes original articles as research results, written in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

Started has a four-month frequency, that is, 3 times a year (January-February) (May-June) (September-October). It is edited by Ediciones UO, Universidad de Oriente. This is intended for researchers, students and teachers of Sports, Physical Education, Recreation, Therapeutic and Prophylactic Physical Culture and its Applied Sciences.

Arrancada does not require payment or reward for any submission or publication, to contribute to the open access of scientific material. Its portal is available at revistarrancada.cujae.edu.cu The authors will send each manuscript in Word format (.doc or .docx) with their Letter of declaration of unpublished article and Conflict of interests, only to the email arrancada@uo.edu. cu o can establish contact with its director Dr. C. About the structure of articles

Manuscripts will be sent in Letter format, single spaced, with Times New Roman font, 12pt size and 2.5 cm margins. All tables, graphs and images will be numbered consecutively (table 1, table 2, graph 1) and will bear their corresponding names (the tables at the top and the graphs and images at the bottom). Regardless of the type of representation, they will appear after the paragraph where they are cited for the first time. In any case, if they are not derived from the article itself, its origin or source will be indicated. The extension of the original articles will be between 12 pages (minimum) and 25 (maximum).

The first page will be common for all types of contributions. It will be used for the title of the work, reflecting the research topic, in Spanish and English, with no more than 15 words.

Name (s) and surnames of the author and co-authors (if any). A maximum of four authors will be accepted.

Write the abstract in Spanish, English (abstract) in a paragraph with no more than 250 words. This will clearly state the objective and the background of the study carried out, the methodology used and a synthesis of the most outstanding results and conclusions. At the end, the keywords are placed in Spanish and English, in a number never less than three and never more than six. They will all appear or not in the title of the work if they do not exceed their preset length, but they will be included in the abstract.

Structure of the original article

  1. 1. Introduction: a brief reference will be made to the research context, the scientific problem will be stated. The state of the art or the background of the research will be referenced in order to reinforce the criteria offered by the author and give his article a scientific character; The social impact of the solution found in the study will be expressed. You must finish with the objective and have more than one page.
  2. Sample and methodology: the criteria for selecting the sample will be explained in detail, the methods and investigative techniques used and their purposes will be stated, as well as the means required if necessary. The tools used to contrast the results using inferential statistics and evaluate their significance will be declared with precision.
  3. Results: the most relevant findings obtained in the research carried out will be clearly stated, which can be supported by graphs, images and tables.
  4. Discussion: in this section the results shown will be analyzed and interpreted, comparing them with those obtained by other published authors, indicating whether their own surpass those, match it, differ or have coincidence aspects. Reference will be made to the limitations and contributions of the research, as well as to the practical or theoretical significance of its main results.
  5. Conclusions: they will be presented listed, directly and concisely. It must be closely related to the results achieved and the objective stated in the article. At least three conclusions.
  6. Bibliographic references: only the bibliographic sources included in the body of the article will be included, using the APA (American Psychological Association) seventh edition standards.

    The sources must not be more than 5 years old (unless an observation is made to the historicity), to guarantee the update of the content.
