Abstract

The objective of the research is to design a methodology for the stimulation of memory and executive function in the elderly through physical activity. The growth of the elderly population has emerged, from the last century to the present, as a social phenomenon without precedent in the history of humanity and Cuba as a country is not alien to it. The studies of Aguilar, Arrazabal and Herrera, (2014); Pérez, (2013), Llibre, (2016) and Valdés, (2017) constitute references for this research insofar as they cover alterations in memory and executive function, which are manifested in delay, to encode and recover information, understanding and learning. The methods of the theoretical level (systematization, historical - logical, modeling, systemic - structural, inductive-deductive) and of the empirical level (documentary analysis, observation, measurement, as well as survey and interview techniques) were applied. The investigation was carried out at the “Camilo Cienfuegos” Sports Complex in the “Plaza de la Revolución” municipality of Havana City. A methodology with emphasis on strengthening memory stimulation and executive function in the elderly is projected as a contribution, consolidation of memory stimulation and executive function in the elderly.
