Knowledge of doping of the athletes of the EIDE “Julio Díaz” 2022-2023

Doping is an unethical and very dangerous practice that puts the health of athletes at risk. Given the increased demand to obtain sports results, together with the increase in options to obtain physical benefits quickly with the use of illegal substances, it is essential to set the following objective: Determine the behavior of knowledge about doping in athletes. of the EIDE “Julio Díaz” of Artemisa in the 2022-2023 academic year. Therefore, a prospective descriptive study was carried out on a population of 214 athletes, 50 athletes were taken as a sample, belonging to ball games (Basketball, Handball, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball) and combat sports (Boxing, TWD, Karate). A survey of knowledge about doping was applied to these athletes and the results were that the athletes of the EIDE Julio Díaz have knowledge about doping by doctors, school and coaches. Baseball is the sport that has the least knowledge about doping; Based on these results, implement measures that prevent the appearance of positive anti-doping results in our athletes while promoting the importance of fair play.
