Abstract

The objective of this work is to make a critical analysis of the notions of the body through which Physical Education has passed (especially in the body for the training of Physical Education professionals); to confront their concern in social, cultural, political and academic fields; in contribution to a better conceptualization of the matter. Its application in the Physical Education teachers of the city of Santa Elena, in the Entre Ríos province; works on these notions of the body to unify ideas about pedagogical discourses in relation to bodily practices and the Physical Education class. The notions of body that will be addressed in the research are based on the idea of a dualistic body, separated into mind and body, where the mind is more relevant than the body and this was subordinated to the mind. On the other hand, the body materially seen (considered as an object), has gone through mechanistic, medical anatomical and functional perspectives; until reaching a plural body, endowed with multiple capacities and potentialities. The central problem of the research is the diversity of conceptualizations about the notions of body; its different links over time with Physical Education in the training of its professionals and how this affects the different professions and their classes. The methods used in the research are exploratory, bibliographic and ethnographic research on the topic addressed, with which different epistemological frameworks are put in tension, in confrontation with knowledge acquired in relation to different conceptualizations.
