Physical Education, as an integral part of the set of subjects of basic secondary education, is actively involved with the multilateral and harmonious development of personality. The article deals with the formation of values in the students of Basic Secondary Education from Physical Education classes, as one of the elements of special attention in the teaching-learning process. Based on the unity between instruction and education that should characterize this process, the objective of the research is declared: to design actions to strengthen the value of responsibility from the Physical Education class to students of Basic Secondary Education in the Nuevitas municipality, based on the potential offered by the study plan. For this, a sample of 151 seventh grade students was taken, in correspondence with the new demands imposed by contemporary society. Methods such as Analysis-Synthesis, Induction-Deduction, Historical-Logical, and techniques that confirmed the need to strengthen the responsibility value, as well as corroborate the pedagogical, practical, and scientific value of the proposed actions were applied. Hence, an assessment of the difficulties and potentialities present in the process of formation of values in Physical Education classes is carried out, until a set of actions is elaborated. It is intended that the actions be oriented and enriched so that they are applied to the teaching-learning process, through classes and in extracurricular activities, thus facilitating the direction of the educational teaching process
