This study analyzed the anthropometric characteristics of 267 male combat athletes (boxing, judo, taekwondo, wrestling, and Greco-Roman wrestling) in the school category in Granma Province, Cuba, between 2021 and 2024. The central problem was the lack of specific data on body composition in young athletes, which limits the customization of training and talent detection. The objective was to determine changes in weight, height, fat percentage, active body mass, and muscle development index during the preparation stages (general, special, and competitive). The methodology included standardized anthropometric measurements performed by certified specialists, using instruments such as calipers, scales, and stadiometers. The results showed a progressive increase in weight and height in all disciplines, along with a significant reduction in fat percentage (for example, boxing decreased from 8.7 % to 7.5 %) and an increase in muscle mass (judokas reached 55.2 kg of active body mass). Furthermore, distinct profiles were identified by sport, such as higher body fat in judo and lower in taekwondo. These findings underscore the importance of monitoring body composition to optimize performance and health in young athletes, providing a scientific basis for training programs and sports selection.
