Abstract

The research aims to analyze the teaching process in the initiation categories of Table Tennis in Cuba, by evaluating the pedagogical objectives in grassroots sport. This is determined by the methodological deficiencies in the conception of a comprehensive training by the teacher at the base, which is colored on many occasions by the desire for championism, ignoring other aspects of the teaching-learning process, essential in these categories. For this, a form of evaluation is established that integrates the technical and physical preparation indicators, according to the sensitive period for the benefit of the sports result. Methods are used in the process from the theoretical plane that make it possible to determine the trends of the evaluation for sports, according to the guidelines issued by the National School Sports Department. Based on these assumptions, it is essential that in grassroots sport, the evaluation of the athlete does not occur only in the achievement of the sporting result, if not, the conception of a comprehensive evaluation that takes into account the fulfillment of the Pedagogical objectives must prevail.
