Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity and physical self-concept in Ecuadorian university students. Using a quantitative approach with an observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive design, data were collected from 715 participants through structured questionnaires, including the IPAQ and the PSPP scale. The results showed a weak positive relationship between moderate physical activity and physical self-concept, while intense physical activity was minimally represented. Additionally, gender differences were identified, with slightly higher scores in men. These findings underline the need to design personalized interventions that promote physical activity among students, especially more vigorous activities, to improve their physical and psychological well-being.
