Exploratory study of orthopedic deformities in schoolchildren with Severe Mental Retardation

The present article refers an exploratory study about the corporal posture in the students with Mental Severe Delay. It approaches aspects related with the deformities orthopedic present in this type of schoolchildren with educational special needs that impact in their health status, that constitutes a challenge in the Physical Culture professionals when approaching this thematic so as to achieve from any space the students’ development and in this way continue with the task carried out in Physical Adapted Education classes. The methods used were the following: Analytic-synthetic, the Inductive-deductive, the observation, and the percentage calculation to base on and to diagnose the current state of these orthopedic deformities, exposing the prevalence in the inferior extremities of flat feet and the scoliosis presence in the spine.
