Abstract

Inline skate is one of the most representative sports for Colombia given the results that have been obtained internationally, however, the literature surrounding the evaluation of the morpho functional profile and the prescription of training in skating is still scarce despite its popularity. Therefore, the purpose of this study was the effectiveness of a training program based on maximum aerobic speed to improve aerobic quality in inline skate. For this purpose, a pre-experimental design study with quantitative focus and a sample at convenience consisting of 9 woman (13,76±1,49 years; bodyweight 48,63±8,67 kg; size 1,55±0,06 m) and 3 men (13,33±2,31 years; bodyweight 48,67±9,07 kg; size 1,60±0,13 m). Participants conducted the 6-minute field test prior to and after the intervention to assess aerobic quality, and the training program consisted of a 6-week ATR structure with a frequency of 2 weekly sessions whose prescription was based on maximum aerobic speed, while statistical analysis was performed in the PSPP (p-value of 0,05). Significant differences in maximum aerobic speed were obtained when comparing the entire group (p<0,01). In conclusion, a training program based on maximum aerobic speed can improve the aerobic quality of skaters in 6 weeks.
