Research competence: its impact on the university student

Abstract

The present non-experimental correctional study is part of the research developed within the framework of the institutional project: Transversal Doctoral School Project, belonging to the R&D Program: Science and Consciousness of the Universidad de Oriente. The result: “Integrating planning program for investigative work practice”, allowed transforming and strengthening the training process of the students of the Bachelor’s degree in Physical Culture, with emphasis on the development of critical thinking. The non-experimental correlational study method was applied, through the use of techniques that allowed us to study the process of formation of the investigative competence of those students who excel in the first years of their degree and are part of the so-called “talented students”. The result obtained demonstrates the importance of the applied program, due to its personalized and interdisciplinary nature. The support provided by the faculty of the program managed to raise the quality of the professional training of the students of the program, as part of the influence to promote doctoral training from the undergraduate level. In collecting the satisfaction status of students and professors of the program, at least 87.4% recognize its effectiveness and the innovative nature of the proposal.
