Abstract

Sports initiation in childhood constitutes a critical stage in motor and cognitive development, where the acquisition of basic technical skills conditions adherence to physical practice. The general objective of this study was to design an articulated school basketball training program aimed at optimizing motor performance and comprehensive development in athletes aged 6 to 8. Methodologically, a quantitative approach was adopted, with an explanatory scope and a pre-experimental design with pretest and posttest measurements in a single group, evaluating a sample of 30 children selected by convenience. Data collection employed a standardized direct observation guide and an ad hoc biomotric evaluation sheet validated by expert judgment. The results showed a statistically significant increase in overall technical performance of 103.0% (p < .001, d = 5.07), highlighting notable progress in dribbling, passing, and the rhythmoplastic coordination of the layup after adapting the infrastructure and playful tasks. It is concluded that the implementation of the adapted program effectively corrects children's biomechanics and enhances technical learning without generating physical overload, validating itself as a safe and replicable methodological tool in the school environment.
