The objective of this research is to characterize the goal prospects of swimmers of the 11-12 category, from the EIDE “Mártires de Barbados” of Havana. Its antecedents include the investigations of Castillo, Balaguer and Duda (2000) (goal orientations and the reasons for sports practice in young athletes); Vera (2011) (influence of psychosocial agents on achievement motivation in adolescent athletes). These studies provided theoretical and methodological references; although none were performed on scholers swimmers. The methodology used included analysis and synthesis, and inductive-deductive, as theoretical methods. From the empirical level the questionnaire and observation. The results showed that task-oriented goal perspectives appear in some of the swimmers, but in the majority they are ego-oriented. Attitudes are found in the coach and parents that mostly promote a motivational climate centered on the ego and not on the task. The study concluded that swimmers who are characterized by an ego-oriented goal perspective predominate. It also concluded that parents and coach show attitudes that are not very favorable for an orientation of the goal perspectives centered on the task, they promote a motivational climate with involvement of the ego, which favors a goal perspective with the same orientation in the athlete.Downloads
