Abstract

This study addressed the issue of low technical-motor performance in executing the rear-hand straight punch among young boxers. The objective was to design and implement a methodological intervention to improve precision, segmental coordination, controlled power, and body posture. As background, it is recognized that boxing instruction at early ages often focuses on physical aspects, neglecting technical and pedagogical components essential for the comprehensive development of the sporting gesture. The research was applied, with a mixed-methods approach. A pre-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design was used in a natural setting. Twenty boxers aged eleven and twelve with prior experience participated, along with three regional coaches. Instruments included a technical test (pretest and posttest), observational records of simulated combat, and a structured guide to analyze the coaches’ methodological strategies. The results showed significant improvements after the intervention: punch precision reached 70 % at a high level, power 60 %, coordination 50 %, and posture 45 %. The qualitative analysis revealed effective pedagogical patterns, such as consistent feedback, personalized technical correction, and progressive session organization. It is concluded that a comprehensive intervention, based on analytical-synthetic, observational, and statistical methods, can enhance technical performance in combat sports by effectively integrating teaching, practice, and evaluation.
