The fundamental mission of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) of Cuba is the defense of the homeland, which requires an optimal health status of its personnel. Sacrolumbalgia, as a chronic non-communicable disease, affects the professional performance of Special Troops (ST) officers. The aim of this study was to design a proposal of prophylactic and therapeutic physical exercises for the management of sacrolumbalgia in ST officers of the Santiago de Cuba Military Region. A descriptive study with a mixed approach was conducted. The sample consisted of 19 ST officers (46.3% of a population of 41), all male aged between 30 and 50 years, selected through intentional sampling. Of these, 11 (57.9%) presented sacrolumbalgia and 8 (42.1%) showed hyperlordosis or scoliosis without symptoms. Three combat instructors were also interviewed. Theoretical methods (analysis-synthesis, inductive-deductive) and empirical methods (observation of 16 physical training sessions, documentary review, postural examination, interview, survey, and specialist criteria) were employed. Descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Kendall’s W coefficient) were used for data analysis. The consulted specialists rated the proposal as feasible. It is concluded that the proposed prophylactic and therapeutic physical exercises constitute a feasible tool for the management of sacrolumbalgia in ST officers, since their implementation in the special physical preparation process allows for the articulation of coherent objectives that favor the health and professional performance of this military personnel.
