Atividade fisica e nutrição. efeitos no desenvolvimento fisico infantil

A atividade física e a nutrição são indicadores relevantes para a saúde infantil, apresentando efeitos no desenvolvimento físico e morfofuncional que devem ser controlados. Assim sendo, o objetivo da investigação é verificar se os escolares que realizam sistematicamente exercício físico ou desportivo (exercícios resistidos e de força) apresentam uma boa composição corporal e capacidade funcional, avaliando as diferenças no estado nutricional, capacidade funcional e desenvolvimento físico por género e nível. atividade física. Foi utilizada uma amostra intencional estratificada de escolares (n=480), onde 50 % praticavam sistematicamente diferentes modalidades desportivas e os restantes praticavam atividade física apenas nas suas escolas, avaliando as dimensões antropométricas (altura, peso corporal, prega cutânea subescapular e prega cutânea tricipital) . Uma menor estatura e um maior peso corporal são evidentes no género feminino a partir dos 12 anos, sendo as diferenças entre os géneros na massa corporal activa igualmente significativas. E mostra que os escolares do sexo masculino submetidos a exercício físico sistemático apresentam uma percentagem de gordura corporal entre 11-13% entre os 14-15 anos e uma maior capacidade funcional do que os sujeitos que não realizam atividade física sistemática (P < 0,001), apresentando um melhor desenvolvimento cardiovascular . A partir dos 10 anos, as mulheres apresentam uma capacidade de trabalho superior à dos homens até aos 14 anos, sendo que a capacidade de trabalho aumenta significativamente nos homens a partir dos 15 anos (P<0,001). O aumento da capacidade funcional das mulheres em relação aos homens manifesta-se na puberdade, devido à maturação biológica precoce do género feminino.
