Efeitos da atividade física aeróbica moderada na retenção lexical do inglês em universitários

Resumo

Abordar, a partir de uma perspectiva interdisciplinar, a relação entre a atividade física aeróbica moderada e a retenção lexical do inglês em estudantes universitários é fundamental para propor estratégias inovadoras que favoreçam a aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras e, ao mesmo tempo, combatam o sedentarismo característico do contexto universitário. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar o efeito de um programa de atividade física aeróbica moderada sobre a retenção lexical do inglês em estudantes universitários. Trata-se de uma investigação quantitativa, com delineamento quase-experimental do tipo pré-teste–pós-teste, com um único grupo (n = 30). A intervenção consistiu em um programa estruturado e controlado de atividade física aeróbica moderada, aplicado à retenção lexical, à memória verbal, à atenção e ao nível de atividade física. Foram observadas melhorias estatisticamente significativas. No Vocabulary Size Test (VST), verificou-se um aumento significativo entre o pré-teste e o pós-teste (Wilcoxon: Z < −3.40; p < .01), com predominância de postos positivos, indicando aumento do vocabulário receptivo em inglês. Da mesma forma, o Teste RAVLT demonstrou avanços significativos na memória de longo prazo e na aprendizagem verbal (p < .001; Z < −3.60). O d2 Test of Attention apresentou incremento relevante na concentração e na atenção seletiva (Z < −3.70; p < .001). Por fim, o IPAQ evidenciou variação significativa no nível de atividade física, passando de baixo para moderado (Z < −3.90; p < .001). A atividade física aeróbica moderada pode constituir uma estratégia neuroeducacional eficaz para melhorar a retenção lexical do inglês em estudantes universitários.
