The social administration of the university library in the preservation of their institutional patrimony.

Abstract

The librarian activity favors the social integration and it confers the professional of the information an integrative role in society, where it offers services equally to all. The results of this investigation showed the difficulties that the investigators of the technological careers confront to publish their investigations and the importance of the institutional repositories for this purpose. It is demonstrated that the library as agent of a necessary resource (the information), it can guarantee that this resource arrives to all using its social responsibility and its professional ethics, promoting opportunities´ equality. It is shown the actions used by the university library to achieve the knowledge administration and the preservation of the institutional scientific patrimony. It was selected the professors who had published books the most for faculties and also counted a great quantity of publications that are not registered in our institution databases. Therefore it affects their visibility for the future investigations, demonstrating the negative incidence of this fact in the information culture and the importance of the library social administration in defense of the institutional scientific patrimony.
