Violencia escolar y desempeño académico y psicosomático en estudiantes deportistas de educación secundaria

Resumen

Los estudiantes deportistas enfrentan una doble exigencia: la académica y la física. La exposición a violencia escolar puede afectar su rendimiento en ambas áreas, generando estrés adicional, desgaste emocional y menor rendimiento académico y deportivo, de allí la importancia de estudiar los efectos de la variable independiente y dependiente. Por ello, se planteó como objetivo determinar la influencia de la violencia escolar en el desempeño académico en estudiantes deportistas del VII ciclo de educación secundaria en una institución educativa. Investigación descriptiva/explicativa de orden correlacional, estudiando una muestra suficiente (n=60) de estudiantes deportistas, interrelacionado las variables de intereses medidas mediante una escala Likert. El análisis estadístico mediante regresión ordinal evidenció que la violencia escolar impacta significativamente en
el rendimiento académico (p = 0.019) y la autoeficiencia (p = 0.009), confirmando dos de las cuatro hipótesis. También se validó la hipótesis general (p = 0.029), aunque no se hallaron relaciones significativas con hábitos de estudio ni motivación académica (p > 0.05). Los valores de Nagelkerke R² (13.4%–17.5%) indican un aporte predictivo moderado. La violencia escolar de nivel medio y bajo fue la más reportada, y el modelo mostró buen ajuste, confirmando mayor probabilidad de bajo rendimiento en estudiantes más expuestos a violencia. La violencia en la escuela impacta de manera adversa en el desempeño escolar y la autoeficiencia de los alumnos de educación secundaria. Los hallazgos corroboran que aquellos que están más expuestos a circunstancias de violencia muestran mayores problemas académicos y menor seguridad en sus habilidades.
