Violência escolar e desempenho acadêmico e psicossomático em estudantes atletas do ensino secundário

Resumo

Estudantes atletas enfrentam uma dupla exigência: acadêmica e física. A exposição à violência escolar pode afetar seu desempenho em ambas as áreas, gerando estresse adicional, desgaste emocional e menor rendimento acadêmico e esportivo. Daí a importância de estudar os efeitos das variáveis independente e dependente. O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar a influência da violência escolar sobre o desempenho acadêmico de estudantes atletas do sétimo ciclo do ensino secundário em uma instituição educacional. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva/explicativa de natureza correlacional, com uma amostra suficiente (n = 60) de estudantes atletas, analisando-se a inter-relação das variáveis de interesse, medidas por meio de uma escala Likert. A análise estatística com regressão ordinal evidenciou que a violência escolar impacta significativamente o desempenho acadêmico (p = 0,019) e a autoeficácia acadêmica (p = 0,009), confirmando duas das quatro hipóteses. A hipótese geral também foi validada (p = 0,029), embora não tenham sido encontradas relações significativas com os hábitos de estudo nem com a motivação acadêmica (p > 0,05). Os valores de Nagelkerke R² (13,4%–17,5%) indicam uma contribuição preditiva
moderada. Os níveis médio e baixo de violência escolar foram os mais relatados, e o modelo apresentou bom ajuste, confirmando maior probabilidade de baixo rendimento entre os estudantes mais expostos à violência. A violência escolar impacta negativamente o desempenho e a autoeficácia dos alunos do ensino secundário. Os achados confirmam que aqueles mais expostos a situações de violência apresentam maiores dificuldades acadêmicas e menor confiança em suas habilidades
