Didactic alternative for the theoretical preparation of the Orienteering Race in the Field

The research was conducted at the Higher Education Institution (HEI) of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) “General José Maceo Grajales”, where insufficiencies were identified in the theoretical preparation of the cadets of the Orienteering Race team. The scientific problem is defined as: insufficiencies manifested in the theoretical preparation of the cadets of the Orienteering Race team at the FAR HEI General José Maceo. The proposed objective is to develop a didactic alternative that contributes to the theoretical preparation of said cadets. The study population consisted of 46 students who reported having knowledge and practice of the sport. A sample of 25 cadets (54.35% of the population) was selected using a sampling method that combined intentional selection (8 team members) and simple random sampling (17 remaining). Theoretical methods (analysis-synthesis, historical-logical, systemic-structural-functional), empirical methods (observation, documentary analysis, survey, interview) and, from the qualitative approach, Participatory Action-Research and reflective participatory interview were used.
