The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education calls for an analysis of its impact on the training of professionals capable of managing care and responding to digitalized environments, including the sports field. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of AI on care management and professional training of university students, with an approach to sports sciences. A quantitative, explanatory, non-experimental, cross-sectional design was adopted, with a census sample of 125 health sciences students. Data were processed using descriptive statistics, ordinal logistic regression, and structural equation modeling (SEM). Results showed that 49.6% of participants reached a good level of AI proficiency, 57.6% a fair level in care management, and 72.8% a good level in professional training. Inferential analysis confirmed that AI significantly influences care management (β = 0.38) and professional training (β = 0.89), with adequate structural model fit (χ²/df = 2.003; CFI = 0.942). It is concluded that AI exerts a positive and differentiated influence, requiring the integration of digital and ethical competencies into sports science curricula to strengthen athlete care management and the training of professionals capable of performing in smart sports ecosystems.
