Abstract

Dyscalculia is a neuropsychological disorder characterized by difficulties in the correct acquisition of mathematical skills. Those who experience it suffer difficulties in the most basic aspects of numerical procedures and calculation. For its part, chess, as a prioritized sport and a means capable of motivating, represents a tool for teaching in primary schools. In a diagnosis carried out on children from the Seboruco town, II Frente municipality, to know how many suffered from dyscalculia and knowledge about Chess, in addition to the interest in practicing it, it was proven that there is interest in this game. However, knowledge is poor and they suffer from this disorder. To achieve the acceptance of chess by children with dyscalculia, this research was proposed, which presents as its objective: to develop games, using chess as a tool for the improvement of dyscalculia in students in the 2nd grade of primary school. Arístides García Delisle'', from the Seboruco town, II Frente municipality. Theoretical level methods were used such as: analysis and synthesis, Induction-deduction. Empirical level, observation. As a research technique, the interview. These games were made based on the objectives of the chess program for this grade and its general objectives, in order to achieve an improvement in said disorder. As a result, a proposal was obtained for a set of games that interrelate the practice of this sport with dyscalculia. These games may serve as support for teachers in future similar cases.
