En la actualidad, el profesionalismo de la gimnasia artística en el deporte ha tenido un creciente interés por las ciencias deporte, buscando encontrar control, medición de los entrenamientos y de la recuperación de los deportistas. Para ello, han intentado encontrar herramientas e instrumentos que permitan medir las ejecuciones de rutinas en distintos aparatos y así obtener la mayor puntuación posible. También, se ha identificado que para lograrlo es necesario obtener un equilibrio preciso entre las aptitudes físicas y la fatiga muscular; para esto, dosificar correctamente cada una de las repeticiones en las sesiones de entrenamiento es necesario, ya que, se podrá reducir la fatiga y de esa manera prevenir el sobre entrenamiento y las lesiones. Seguidamente, este estudio, presenta el análisis detallado de un atleta de gimnasia artística de la categoría juvenil, específicamente en las barras paralelas, presentando así, datos puntuales en la importancia de la planificación del entrenamiento, como lo son, edad, horario, experiencia deportiva, entre otros. Como complemento, se propone la utilización del Indicador de Calidad Micovi (ICM), siendo esta una metodología que permite tener una evaluación de la calidad de la técnica en las barras paralelas, generando datos valiosos sobre la eficacia y la eficiencia.
